The Parable of the Talents…What’s our Response!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 12:58 pm

In the story of the “Parable of the Talents”(Matthew 25 14-30)…One was given 5, One was given 2, and the other was given 1! The ones that was given 5 and 2 took what they had and multiplied it, while the one that was given only 1 took it and buried it. And

His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28” ‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Wow! So who responsibility is it to take what God has given us an multiply? Ours!

I am inspired by this story! Years ago while sitting out in the Congregation at my church, God clearly spoke to me and said “I want you to sing for me again.” At that point I was in my early 20s and had been sitting out just enjoying worship and the word. God spoke and I obeyed, And Wow!!!! What a Ride it Has been. Around the World For Jesus.  I love worshipping the Father!!! He is so Worthy of our Praise….

What are You doing with What God Gave You?  What’s Your Response??

A Life That Pleased The Lord(my quiet-time review)!

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 12:59 pm

Today the Lord led me to do a study on King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles v 17,18,19,and 20th)! The Bible said that Jehoshaphat was committed to the ways of the Lord!

Here are some nuggets from my study:

  • The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father’s early years, and did not worship the images of Baal. He sought his father’s God and obeyed his commands instead of following the practices of the kingdom of Israel. So the Lord Established Him over the Kingdom of Judah
  • When faced with an alliance with King Ahab to fight against Ramoth-gilead… He requested that they first seek God’s counsel! Ahab went his own way and lost his life/ while Jehoshaphat cried out unto the Lord and his life was spared!
  • In and around the 20th Chapter, he received news that a vast army had declared war on him and had began to march against him! Jehoshaphat sought the Lord for guidance, and called a fast! He cried out;  “O our God, won’t you stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.” Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men in the crowd and he said; “Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” Then Jehoshaphat turned to the people and said believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed. After that he sent the singers forth, and they sung: Give thanks to the Lord; his faithful love endures forever!!!!” I have been meditating a lot on his love lately…   Back to the story;  “At the moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves.” By the time the army of Judah arrived at the lookout point in the wilderness, there were dead bodies lying on the ground for as far as they could see. Not a single one of the enemy had escaped….”   The Bible said they returned to Jerusalem full of joy that the Lord had given them victory over their enemies! When the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them. So Jehoshaphat’s kingdom was at peace, for his God had given him rest on Every Side!” Wow!!

What stood out the most to me was  how passionate, Jehoshaphat was about his pursuit of God! He was a man that encouraged other in their passion… He said “always think carefully before pronouncing judgment. Remember that you do not judge to please people but to please the Lord.”  2 Chronicles 19 v 7 states; ” Fear the Lord and judge with care, for the Lord our God does not tolerate perverted justice, partiality, or the taking of bribes.”

This man’s life inspires me….I love to read and meditate on God’s Word! It clearly shows examples of those who please the Lord and those that do not!!!

My life’s Goal is to Please the Lord!!! What about you? Have you purposed in your heart to live a life pleasing unto the Lord?

Morning Prayer at Church

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 3:53 pm

Incredible Atmosphere happening at Church on the Rock during 6:30 prayer in the mornings!!!! Revelations are being birth! Healings are manifesting! We are all going to new levels in Christ….

Here are some things that stood out to me during Prayer this Morning;
* God has created everything we need
* In knowing God, you will know who you are
* Greater Hunger, Greater Desire For God
* Let us stop moving about as if God is Powerless
* We have to be willing to die to self continually
* Know Him, Follow Him
* Carried on the Shoulders of a Commander, not a Beggar
* We need people, who understand their authority and walks in it
* Spiritual Warfare /Put on the Whole Armour

Psalm 63

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

A House Divided Can Not Stand!! There is Power In Unity!!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 1:35 pm

Let Us Endeavor To Walk in Unity, Peace and Love Toward One Another:-) The Bible Says;
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God(Matthew 5:9).”

My prayer for the Christian Family is; 1) That a flow of communication and forgiveness will be evident in our homes 2) That the Word, the Blood, and the Fear of the Lord will be the foundation of our homes. 3) That our homes will be a place of comfort and love, and a refuge away from the world. 4) For Wisdom to lead our homes in a way that glorifies God… He that has begun a good work in our Families, Is Faithful to bring it into completion…

Take Courage And Be Strong

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 10:14 am

These are the words spoken by David to his son Solomon as he neared death. 1 Kings 2 v 2-4:

“Be strong and show yourself a man; Keep the charge of the Lord your God, walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His precepts, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may do wisely and prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, That the Lord may fulfill His promise to me, saying, If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and mind and with all their soul, there shall not fail you [to have] a man on the throne of Israel.”

Take Courage and Be Strong, Be Bold, Be Courageous, Be all that God created you to be!!! It takes Strength to follow God and Stand up for What you believe In!!!!

The Accuser of The Brethren!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 9:14 am

In Revelation 12:10 Satan is referred to as “the accuser of our brethren.” The word “accuse” is defined, “(1) to charge with, or declare to have committed a crime, (2) to find at fault; to blame . . .”

In my observations; we (the body of Christ) sometimes miss opportunities to reach the loss, when we as Christians destroy and scatter the sheep by tearing each other down with our words and our actions. I believe we spend way too much time pointing out others shortcomings then we do pointing people toward Christ and allowing Him to make Our Crooked Ways Straight (smile)! The Bibles says that we have “all sinned and fallen short,” so why do we spend so much time tearing each other down?

Jesus is the only answer period! That is what the world needs…. It is so important that we live what we speak… I know I fall short at times, but I get right back up, repent and commit to go deeper!

Our Job, as Christians, should be to point people toward Christ not to pick out each other flaws and broadcast them (hmm, sounds like “The Accuser” to me)!!!! Question: Are You Building Up People or Tearing Them Down?

Let’s Be Salt And Light, Build One Another Up In Christ, And See People As God Sees Them(smile)!

We serve an Incredible God, who is worthy of all of our praise and all of our adoration….I am going deeper in my walk with Him, and Yes!!!! It does take all of that… He is my everything and through Him, ALL Things Will Be Revealed!!! So I thank Him For Loving Me! I thank Him For Guiding Me! I thank Him For Protecting and Keeping Me! I Thank Him For Giving Me His Peace and His Word, Which Will Go Forth and Accomplish That Thing It Was Sent Forth To Accomplish!!! I am in Awe of Him!!

Mother’s Day Prayer(2010)

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 7:06 pm

Psalm 115:12-15 The Lord has been mindful of us: He will bless our home. He will bless those who fear Him both small and great. May the Lord give us increase more and more. May we be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth. In Jesus name

Prayer: We will always be on God’s mind. He is continually finding ways to bless us. My joy knows no bounds as He showers us with His wonderful gifts. He makes both me and my children increase so that we have an abundance of all good things. He has placed all of His creation into my hands so that we will never lack the things we need. In Jesus Name

Proverbs 15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: It is a storehouse of all good things

Prayer: My house contains an abundance of godly treasures. It is a storehouse of all good things.

Psalm 92:12-15 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare the Lord is upright; He is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Prayer: I flourish in this earth like the palm tree. Though the winds blow with hurricane force, I remain fixed, steadfast and secure. Under His care, I thrive at the height of success and development. I continue to bear good fruit!

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God has not called us to impurity but to consecration(to dedicate ourselves to the most thorough purity).

Prayer: God did not call me to live impurely, but a holy life.

I command a breakthrough of abundance beyond my imagination in Jesus name! I declare God’s favor! I thank you Lord for anointing my eyes to see the hidden riches of this world. I declare a wall of fire around me and my family…In Jesus Name, I declare my home to be a place of comfort and love , and a refuge away from the world.I thank you Lord for the spirit of holiness and grace!! I reject every tendency and sin that wants to draw me away from the will of God.

The Prayer of Jabez: Father Bless Me Spiritually, Enlarge My Territory, Keep Your Hand Upon Me…and Keep me from all Temptation!!!!

The Heart of Worship!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 1:56 pm

Yesterday I had a conversation with a woman of great substance, and God used her to lift my spirit, to encourage my heart and to bring clarity to a vision given to me many years ago by God!  She spoke about Purpose…. “Why are you here?” and “What is your purpose?” I heard her say. “Focus on your assignment, and be who God created you to be!”

A Worship Leader is defined as one who believes that God is the Audience of our worship. One who takes the lead and leads others in worshiping The King of Kings and The Lord of Lord!  He is worthy of our praise and of our adoration. What an honor it is to worship Him!

My passion is to Worship Him! My passion is to Praise Him! My passion is to Please Him! My passion is Him!

A Blog posted by Bob Kauflin in 2006 said; “Ultimately, our worship leader is Jesus. He is the only mediator between God and man, and the perfect man who sings God’s praise in our midst. (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 2:12) He is our high priest who has offered the perfect sacrifice of Himself to insure our entrance into the holy places. (Heb. 10:19-22)” Thank you Jesus!

Last year, 2009, with the release of my debut CD(Near the Cross), God took my ministry to a new level! I was blessed to be able to travel around the world, minister in song and share my testimony. It was truly Amazing! In London, I experienced God in a incredible way (words can not express).

This year started strong, but God spoke, and said; “Peace, Be Still” and called me to a Fast!!!! He began revealing areas in my life that needed tending to:-) It hurts now just thinking about it! Ouch! All to You Lord, I surrender! I am so grateful that our Heavenly Father loves us too much to leave us the same. I thought I was doing pretty good, but God needed more! He required me to go Deeper!

Currently, I am finishing up my second book, and about to begin production on my new CD! I am excited about what God is doing in this day and in this hour!

For ten years now, I have been blessed to be a member of Church on The Rock (St. Peters, Missouri), where I serve in the choir. It is an incredible church! Our Pastors David and Kim Blunt boldly declare the word of God each week and challenge us to go after God like never before! I am thankful for the teaching I receive there!

A Pearl Of Great Price (Know your Worth)!

Filed under: Uncategorized — marvlunreed @ 1:51 am

Be encouraged as you go throughout your day, knowing that The King of Kings and The Lord of Lords is still on The Throne!!! And He is Faithful!

His Word tells us to; cast our cares on Him and that He will sustain us (Psalms 55:22). That means the pressure is not on us but on Him / Our Burden Bearer(Thank You Jesus).

Sometimes in life there are things that we just don’t understand, but we can take confidence in knowing that His love never fails, Never! We can trust Him!

As you are preparing for the next stop in your journey, remember to Keep Your Eyes On Him!!! He has “Big Plans” in store For Us! Jeremiah 29:11 tells us so.

You are A Great Mom, an Incredible Wife, and a Beautiful Woman… Yes You!!! We all need to be reminded of that, I know I do!!!

When the enemy tries to distort our vision of ourselves we must look to Jesus for clarity!!! He said that you and I were fearfully and wonderfully made… He said that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus!!! He said that we are pearls of great price…. That’s right!!! We are who He says We Are!!!!
